Bold Contemporary Custom Home in St. Petersburg, Florida
Contemporary Modern home with bold lines, open living, and refined finishes in a prime location.
At just over 2,000 square feet, this three-bedroom residence on Newton Avenue South is a study in how much architectural presence a compact footprint can carry when the design discipline is right. Strong horizontal lines, deliberate window placement, and a confident material palette give the home a posture that feels distinctly modern — but never anxious about being noticed.
The plan is organized around an open central living volume that connects kitchen, dining, and living without dividing them. Full-height openings extend the interior to the lot, pulling in light from multiple orientations and giving the public rooms a scale that exceeds the square footage on paper. Four bathrooms across three bedrooms speak to how the home was actually planned for adult living — guest suites that function as private retreats rather than afterthoughts.
Finish-level decisions favor texture and longevity over trend: smooth stucco exterior, a restrained interior palette, and the kind of detailing that holds up under daily use. Every element of the home is designed to feel intentional in proximity to the next.
This project reflects MTBH Studios' approach to contemporary residential architecture in St. Petersburg's evolving neighborhoods — homes that bring modern design language to infill lots without forcing scale or pretense. Architecture and construction were carried out by one integrated team from concept through completion, ensuring the design intent visible on the page made it intact onto the lot.
